Synthesis Note Chart Part 1

This artifact was created after the line of inquiry was established through a minimal amount of research done but with an interest to research the topic chosen. This was done to ensure that the students in ENC 1102 would be to yield research papers that would be personally significant. After establishing a Line of Inquiry the next step is to find relevant sources to the Line of Inquiry which is why the synthesis note chart was created.

This artifact is an example of research genre production this step requires the student to have a specific line in research in mind already before filling the chart out. This chart then is used to sort out the irrelevant sources from relevant sources through various questions placed in the top row highlighted in light blue. In addition to finding relevant sources, this chart also helps you limit sources that are not academically relevant or peer-reviewed.

This chart is relevant to my research because it was a helpful aid that helped me identify potentially relevant sources that were either discarded or used in the end.

Annotated Bibliography

This artifact was created right after the completion of the entire "Synthesis Note Chart" was filled. The completion of the synthesis Note Chart" allowed the ENC 1102 students to have the most relevant sources based on a preliminary analysis of relevant sources.

The artifact on the right is showing what my annotated bibliography looked like once I completed it. In this artifact, you can see that a purpose was identified and backed up by evidence. In addition to providing evidence, I also provided my understanding of the article based on what I read. This artifact was done to demonstrate my ability to look at a specific paper in a research community and analyze its importance in that community. This involved a lot of skimming and in-depth reading because at the time an article may look relevant but once read it had nothing to do with my line of inquiry.

This artifact was important to my research because it helped limit the number of articles I would use in my final research paper which is helpful. After all, I would only need relevant sources to incorporate into my research.
